The Bharatiya Janata Party has asserted that Trivendra Singh Rawat, who is set to be sworn in as the new Uttarakhand Chief Minister, has the potential to fulfill the dreams that the party saw for the state.

Speaking to ANI here, BJP spokesman Anil Baluni said, "Rawat is a visionary leader, he knows the state very well and also the problems in Uttarakhand. I have full faith that he will fulfill Atal Behari Vajpayee's dream and bring about all round development of the state."

Baluni also thanked the people of Uttarakhand, BJP's MLA and the party itself for showing their trust in Rawat and choosing him as state Chief Minister.

The BJP on Friday elected Trivendra Rawat as its legislative party leader.

Rawat will take oath of office and secrecy by Governor Krishna Kant Paul at the Raj Bhavan in Dehradun on March 18.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah will attend the swearing-in ceremony.
