U.S. President Donald Trump is wading into the 5th District special election urging north-central South Carolina residents to vote for Republican Ralph Norman on June 20.
"Ralph Norman, who is running for Congress in SC's 5th District, will be a fantastic help to me in cutting taxes, and getting great border security and healthcare. #VoteRalphNorman tomorrow!," Trump tweeted.
He further said, "Karen Handel's opponent in #GA06 can't even vote in the district he wants to represent because he doesn't even live there! He wants to raise taxes and kill healthcare. On Tuesday, #VoteKarenHandel."
Trump's criticism of Democrat Jon Ossoff comes on the eve of the closely watched special election in Georgia to fill the seat vacated by Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price.
Before the first round of voting for the seat in April, Trump encouraged Republicans to "get out and vote," noting that Ossoff does not live in the district.
Handel and Ossoff will face off on Tuesday in the special election after several months of campaigning.
