At least two persons died and seven others were injured after being swept away by a flood in Nepal's Rugin VDC of Bajura district on Wednesday.
Dal Bahadur Bogati, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Bajura, was quoted by the Himalayan Times, as saying that the deceased have been identified as Misil Buda Thapa aged 10 and his brother Dirgha Buda Thapa aged 6.
Bogati also said that over 60 houses were completely destroyed by the flood. Livestock was also swept away.
Police informed that the injured are receiving treatment at a local medical facility.
The incident took place around 4 a.m. local time today.
Police also said that seven cows and thirty goats were swept away by the floodwaters.
Meanwhile, a joint police team from Bicchyan Police and Kolti Police Posts has been dispatched for rescue operations.
