In a sharp condemnation of the Pathankot terror attack by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror group, the government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) said that terrorism has no borders and poses a threat to innocent people.
"Terrorism and extremism know no borders and no limits and pose a threat to innocent people everywhere around the world. In order to contain the dangerous threat that terrorism poses to our countries and peoples, international cooperation is indispensable," the Foreign Ministry of UAE said in a statement.
The UAE appreciated the efforts by the international community in investigating and addressing the incident together.
"In the wake of this heinous attack, the UAE is encouraged by the determination of international community to work hand in hand in order to investigate the incident and address the issue," the Foreign Office said.
The UAE assured India of complete support in its fight against terrorism.
Six terrorists were neutralised in the terror attack at the Pathankot air base that began in the wee hours on January 1. Seven security personnel were martyred in the terror attack.
The conspiracy behind the terrorist attack in Pathankot was hatched in Markaj, Pakistan, as per high-level official sources.
Sources said the intelligence agencies have identified the mastermind who was controlling Asfaq Ahmed, Hafiz Abdul Shakur, Kashim Jan and Masood Azhar, the perpetrators of the Pathankot attack.
Putting the ball in Pakistan's court, India yesterday said the attack has once again put renewed focus on the challenge posed by cross-border terrorism.
