American multinational online transportation network company Uber has announced its carpool service for just USD 5. The service is currently available only in Manhattan and only during the peak hours of 7 to10 a.m. and 5 to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday.
According to the company, riders would be prompted to walk a few blocks to a particular intersection in order to align the routes more efficiently, the Verge reports.
"Corner pickups and drop-offs make driving routes more direct, so you'll save time and arrive at your destination faster," the company said in a blog post.
