Owing to the resignation of four sitting members of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, elected by the Members of State Legislative Assembly, the Commission decided on Thursday to hold by-elections for the same to fill up the vacancies.
Following are the important dates regarding the election:
Issue of notification- 29th August, 2017
Last date of making nominations- 5th September, 2017
Scrutiny of nominations- 6th September, 2017
Last date for withdrawal of candidatures- 8th September, 2017
Also Read
Date of Poll- 15th September, 2017
Counting of Votes- 15th September, 2017
Date before which election shall be completed- 18th September, 2017
The resigning members are Buqqal Nawab, Yashwant, Sarojini Agarwal, and Ashok Bajpai.
