An centre superintendent and a teacher were left injured on Sunday after a group of students opened fire at them during an exam at a private institute in Moradabad.

The accused fired at the victims when they tried to stop them from cheating during the exam.

"My younger brother is a centre superintendent on behalf of the government and he was invigilating the exam. The students tried to cheat in the exam, so he tried to oppose the students. One of the students had an unauthorised pistol and they suddenly opened fire," said the centre superintendent's brother.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police (SP) Prabal Pratap Singh assured that the accused will be arrested soon.

"A government exam was going on at a private computer centre. The invigilator has got hit on his left shoulder and the other one, who is also a parent of one of the students, got hit on his right shoulder," Singh said.

"We are going to arrest the two accused in this case as we have got their information. The injured are getting proper treatment at Cosmos Hospital and are out of danger," he added.
