US does not rule out possible Al Qaeda terror attacks on mainland

The White House has refused to deny the possibility of militant group Al Qaeda terror attack extending to U.S. soil, besides its diplomatic missions in the Arabian countries.

Press Secretary Jay Carney clarified that despite the AL Qaeda group getting weakened over the last few years, the threat of potential terrorist attacks remains, the Washington Times reports.

Earlier, the State Department had announced that 20 U.S. diplomatic missions in the Middle East and North Africa wll remain closed for this week amid terror threats from the Al Qaeda group of the Arabian Peninsula.
