US lawmakers concerned over decreasing drone strikes amid increasing terror attacks

The United States House of Republicans has raised concerns over decreasing number of drone strikes by America in Pakistan and other neighbouring countries in comparison to increasing frequency of terror attacks by Al Qaeda and other militant outfits globally.

The West Point Counter-terroism Center's statistics showed more than 60 terror attacks have been conducted this year, while just 22 drone strikes were launched by the U.S. on terror-affected countries over roughly the same period, Fox News reports.

Earlier, President Barack Obama said the fight against militant outfits is entering a new phase in which only legal and necessary drone strikes will be focused to avoid civilian casualties.
