Naheed Nusrat, wife of globally acclaimed Pakistani musician late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, has passed way due to an unknown illness.

Naheed took her last breath at the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario, where she was moved after the demise of her husband, the Dawn reported.

While expressing grief over Naheed's death, her nephew Rahat Fateh Ali Khan said that he is extremely saddened by the recent demise of his aunt.

The renowned singer asserted that his aunt was a devoted mother and a pillar of strength to his uncle Nusrat.

Rahat insisted that he and his aunt shared a close relationship and he was in constant contact with her even after she moved to Canada.

Rahat added that his thoughts and prayers are with his aunt's daughter and her family.
