Vajpayee called 2002 Gujarat riots as mistake, claims A.S. Dulat

Former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chief A.S. Dulat has allegedly claimed that the then-prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had expressed discontent over the 2002 Gujarat riots and called it 'our mistake'.
Dulat had headed the external spy agency RAW till 2000 before he was appointed as Special Advisor in Vajpayee's PMO.
The February 2002 communal riots in Gujarat claimed over thousand lives, with many more injured or missing.
