'The Snowman' actor Val Kilmer has opened up about his two-year battle with throat cancer and how it changed his life.
Joined by his children, Mercedes, 26, and Jack, 22, for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 57-year-old admitted he was "too serious" about having an A-list career.
"I was too serious. I'd get upset when things like Oscars and recognition failed to come my way," he said.
"I would like to have more Oscars than anybody," he told the magazine. "Meryl Streep must feel pretty good, you know? It must feel nice to know that everyone loves her. It's about being loved."
The Grammy nominee also revealed he underwent a tracheostomy during his fight against cancer.
Confusion surrounded the state of the actor's health since he denied Michael Douglas' claim that he had cancer in a November 2016 Facebook post.
