Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari on Saturday extended his greetings and good wishes to all the citizens on the auspicious occasion of Milad-Un-Nabi, the birthday of the Prophet Mohammad.
"I extend my greetings and good wishes to all our citizens on the auspicious occasion of Milad-Un-Nabi, the birthday of the Prophet Mohammad," said Ansari.
"On this hallowed occasion, let us commit ourselves to remain true to the timeless virtues of peace, compassion, tolerance and forgiveness, as taught by the Holy Prophet," he added.
The day is observed as Milad un-Nabi, which commemorates the Prophet Muhammad's birthday.
Milad un-Nabi is also known as Nabi Day, Mawlid, Mohammad's Birthday or the Prophet's Birthday.
