Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari held bilateral talks with the top leadership in Lao PDR on the last day of his four-day visit to Cambodia.

Vice President Ansari, who was given the guard of honour at the Presidential Palace "Ho Kham", held restricted meeting with his Lao counterpart Bounyang Vorachith.
Both leaders also discussed issues of bilateral concern during the delegation-level talks at the Presidential Palace.
Based upon historical and civilizational foundations and the role played by India as chairman of the International Commission for Supervision and Control (ICSC) on Indo-China, both sides enjoy longstanding, friendly and mutually supportive relations.
Lao PDR has been supportive on major issues of regional and international concerns to India, including India's claim for permanent membership of the UN Security Council.
