Assuring the people of Goa a better life, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said they would ensure that the state 'blooms' if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is voted to power.
Asserting that the government has contributed a lot towards the development of Goa, Prime Minister Modi said they have given more to Goa in 25 months than what other governments in past gave it in 50 years.
"We have helped Goa more in 25 months than what other governments have in 50 years. This is our speed and direction," said Prime Minister Modi while addressing an election rally here.
Goa's economy being largely dependent on tourism, the Prime Minister said his government's concentration has been on the same for greater development.
Taking a dig at the Congress, Prime Minister Modi said Goa witnessed slow development during 1990-2000 due to political instability.
"In the previous years, there was political instability in Goa which slowed down development in Goa. Remember the time from 1990 to 2000," he said.
"For Goa's economic development and employment, we are emphasising on tourism by working shoulder to shoulder with the state government," he said.
Commenting on the recent issue of postponement of budget and the Supreme Court verdict of not changing the date, Modi hit out at the opposition saying that parties are preparing their drafts to attack them, soon after the release of the budget.
Appealing the people of Goa to vote for them, Prime Minister Modi said, "I would make the state most comfortable in the country if the voters give us a comfortable majority."
Goa goes to polls on February 4.
