The Supreme Court on Friday rejected intervention of the state investigating agencies in the Vyapam scam case.
"Ranjeet Kumar was representing the CBI and Mukul Rohtagi was present on behalf of Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the state of Madhya Pradesh," said advocate Sumeer Sodhi.
He also detailed about the three types of cases discussed in the court today.
"The first type of cases is the ones in which acquittal and conviction had been done. Second being the ones in a pre-charge state. The third were the ones in which chargesheet had been filed," he said.

Sodhi said Rohtagi appealed to the apex court to deal with all cases differently and that the investigating agencies and prosecutors of Madhya Pradesh must be allowed to help the CBI in the case.
"However, the Supreme Court rejected the plea and said that all 72 cases which were without acquittal and charge sheet had to be investigated by the CBI only," said Sodhi.
"The CBI has been permitted to investigate under Section 173 (8) of the Criminal Procedure Code and can seek further permission for the same," he added.
The senior advocate further said Rohtagi has been asked to file report within a week detailing all the steps taken by him with respect to arranging the staff required by the CBI.
This case will be next heard on October 9.
The Vyapam scam is an admission and recruitment scam involving politicians, senior officials and businessmen in Madhya Pradesh.
