Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has said that the team environment has changed for the better under the mentorship of their new head coach Darren Lehmann, who he added, has made it more enjoyable than the past.

According to News.com.au, Watson's comment was in response of former captain Ricky Ponting's view in his new book At The Close Of Play, which stated that the players air each other's dirty laundry in public in the current team environment unlike the past, where they used to look after and protect each other.

However, Watson believes that the team environment significantly changed after Lehmann came in following the sacking of Mickey Arthur, under whom, he hinted, things were going in the wrong direction which made the atmosphere less than ideal.

Stating that Lehmann has brought fun back to the team, Watson further said that Lehmann knows what environment is necessary within the team to get the best out of the players, adding that he is also aware of the Australian way of playing cricket and living that day to day, which he brought back into the team.

According to Watson, every player is now enjoying each other's success, thanks to Lehmann, adding that for players like him, who have suffered in the troubled period of yore, the environment is back to an exciting time again.
