Formula One driver Mark Webber joined Fernando Alonso in hitting out at tyre manufacturer Pirelli after he had to suffer out because of Sergio Perez's McLaren's right-front tyre's explosion in Sunday's Korean Grand Prix.

According to 3news.co.nz, Webber expressed anger by claiming that the drivers were not super important and the situations were designed according to what other people wanted.

He said that the tyres were wearing a lot and also exploding a bit, but it was for Pirelli to sort out.

Webber retired from the race over a separate incident shortly after the puncture, the report said.

Drivers have complained on several occasions this season, saying the Pirelli tyres are too fragile, the report added.

Pirelli changed the design of the tyres following a series of dramatic tyre failures at the British Grand Prix in June, after which drivers had threatened to boycott the German Grand Prix if the problem was not solved, the report further said.

However, drivers have continued to voice their displeasure at the tyres for not being durable enough, according to the report.
