West Bengal minister gets bail in Saradha Chit Fund Scam
The district and sessions judge at the Alipore Court on Saturday granted conditional bail to West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra on personal bond of Rs. 2 lakh in Saradha Chit Fund Scam after over 11 months of custody.
Madan Mitra was arrested by the CBI on December 12, 2014 in connection with the multi-crore Saradha Chit Fund Scam.
He was suffering from several diseases and was admitted to a hospital for a long period during his jail custody.
The court also granted bail to Sandhir Agarwal, another accused in the case, on personal bond of Rs. 3 lakh.
