A day after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath released 'white paper' on the misrule and corruption of the previous governments, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday lashed out at the Yogi-led government, stating that the 'white letter' a lie and the former has cheated the farmers in the name of debt waiver.
On completing six months in office, Yogi Adityanath released a 'White Paper' indicting the previous Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati (2007-12) and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav (2012-17) regimes over alleged corruption, misrule and anti-people policies for the backwardness of the state.
The 24-page White Paper contained abridged details of the functioning of 25 different sectors and state departments, under previous chief ministers, especially during Akhilesh rule.
While addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, Akhilesh said, "BJP said that they would give loans to farmers and put an end to all their debts. But the promises on debt seem to be a lie. Yogi Sarkar has betrayed the farmers in the name of debt waiver. The saffron party has fooled and lied our people. Farmers have been cheated since they have come to power. The CM needs to take a glance at the certificates given to farmers which say that they will provide 1 paise on Rs 1, 55,000 loan amount".
Adityanath yesterday said the purpose of the White Paper was to apprise the people about the dismal condition in which the state was handed over to the now ruling saffron party.
