Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned the United States against blacklisting their force, saying that Tehran would treat US troops like Daesh terrorists.

Chief Commander of the IRGC Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari's warning came after the White House said on Friday that US President Donald Trump is expected to announce new measures against Iran, including the prospect of additional targeted sanctions, support for terrorism, cyber operations and the designation of the IRGC as a "terrorist organization".

"If America's new law for sanctions is enforced, this country will have to move its regional bases outside the 2,000 km radius of the Iranian missiles' range," Press TV quoted Jafari as saying.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Iran will react appropriately to the stances of President Trump towards Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)- the nuclear accord which Tehran reached with the US and other countries in 2015 to limit its nuclear program in exchange for lifting of sanctions.

Zarif made the remarks on the sidelines of a conference dubbed as 'Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani and 8-year sacred defense'.

Foreign Minister Zarif added that in realty, the region is suffering from mistaken policies of the US and Iran is confronting terrorism and Takfiri groups and will continue its policies in this framework and realities in the region are gradually enlightened for other world countries.

He continued that President Trump and his allies, who are to sell more armament to the region, are following policies in this regard.
