A woman was killed after she was pushed from a moving Express Train in Maharashtra by a ticket checker.

Ujjwala Pandey, 38, who had a general ticket, was trying to board the AC coach of the LTT-Rajendranagar Patna Express and was stopped by TTE Sampat Salunkhe.

As the train started to move, Ujjwala tried to board the train with her 10-year-old daughter, but was pushed by Salunkhe. She lost her balance and came under the train.

Salunkhe has been arrested and been charged under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder).

Further investigations are being conducted, media reports said.
