World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the completion of his government's one year in power and said the world needs more leaders like him.
"Congratulations, @narendramodi, on one year of visionary steps toward ending poverty in #India. The world needs more leaders like you," Kim said on twitter.
In his reply, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude, and said everyone has to work together to make the world a better place.
"@JimKim_WBG Thank you so much! All of us have to work together to make our World a better place and particularly to end the menace of poverty," he said.
Prime Minister Modi took charge of his office on May 26 last year, after a historic election victory that gave the BJP the first parliamentary majority in 30 years and ended two terms of Congress Party rule.
