Former 'The X-Files' star Gillian Anderson has signed a deal to write a new science-fiction book series.
Thanks to publishers at Simon and Schuster, who have a new imprint dedicated to speculative fiction called Simon451, the actress is returning to the genre that made her famous.
Along with co-writer Jeff Rovin, Anderson will write and develop a new franchise, titled the EarthEnd Saga, Entertainment Weekly reported.
The first book, 'A Vision of Fire', follows the fortunes of a child psychiatrist who specialises in treating kids who have suffered trauma from natural disasters and war, and meets a girl with unique troubles in the process.
Anderson is looking forward to the new venture, claiming that her time on 'The X-Files' has given her the perfect background material.
