YouTube now boasts 1.8 billion users logged in and watching every month.

Although the video-service is free to all, the impressive numbers indicate the change in viewing culture across the globe.

YouTube recorded about 400 hours of video uploads every minute, Cnet reported. The sheer scale makes it challenging for the service to grapple with abuse.

Last year, YouTube had to aggressively pull down ads around offensive clips. This impacted the YouTubers who were unable to make money out of the platform.
