After the Aspire’s rocket start, Ford India is prepped-up to bring the Figo replacement next week!
Ford India will launch the second generation Figo on 23rd of this month. The hatch shares its face and platform with the recently launched Aspire, just like the rest of its hatch-compact-sedan peers. The vehicle will compete with Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and Tata Bolt. Moreover, Ford has already discontinued the Figo, the vehicle will step into its shoes from next week.
Like the Aspire, the new Figo is most likely to get standard dual front airbags and will also share its powertrain with the Aspire. We have spied the hatch couple of months ago at a dealership. It is was the Titanium+ variant featuring segment-first 6-airbags, Ford’s SYNC audio system, auto AC in an all-black dash!

The diesel will be the uprated 1.5-liter TDCi - 100 PS @ 3750 rpm and 215 Nm @ 1750 - 3000 rpm of torque. The power is sent to a 5-speed manual gearbox and it returns an impressive fuel economy of 25.83 km/l in the Aspire compact sedan, expect more kilometers per liter in Figo. We are not sure whether the Aspire’s 1.5-liter Ti-VCT Petrol with 6-Speed DCT (dual-clutch AT) will be offered with the 2015 Figo or not. Stay tuned!
