Audi India will launch the A3 cabriolet tomorrow. The second iteration of the A3 brand is likely to come through CBU (completely built units) route in the country. The pricing of the A3 Cabriolet will be slightly higher compared to its sedan counterpart.

On the design front, Audi A3 Cabriolet looks identical to the A3 sedan and features a soft-top. Like the sedan, it sports bi-xenon headlamps with daytime running LEDs and LED tail lamps. Moreover, Audi says the fabric roof of the cabrio is retractable under 18 seconds at a push of a button and can be operated at a speed up to 50 km/h. Interiors will be homogeneous too featuring a pop-out 7-inch infotainment system with Audi’s MMI and a touch pad. Other features include dual-zone climate control and electrically adjustable front seats.

The A3 Cabriolet will be powered by the same 1.8-liter TFSI turbo petrol engine working in sedan version. The motor produces max power of 177 bhp and a peak torque of 280 Nm. In overseas markets, A3 cabriolet is also offered with a smaller displacement turbo petrol 1.4-liter TFSI along with 2.0-liter TDI diesel. But as it will be a niche product in Audi India’s portfolio, expect it to be solely offered with 1.8 TFSI. Transmission duties will be handled by a seven-speed S-Tronic dual clutch automatic gearbox, similar to that of A3 sedan.
