Q7, the premium SUV from the Ingolstadt based manufacturer is getting Audi’s new digital instrument cluster and a new generation MMI (Multimedia infotainment) system. The automaker unveils a video depicting car’s new infotainment system for the 2015 CES (Consumer Electronics Show) which starts tomorrow in Las Vegas, U.S.
The automaker has already revealed the all new Q7 and its first public appearance is scheduled at the upcoming North American International Auto Show aka Detroit Motor Show. With second-generation modular infotainment platform on-board, the automaker adds more fun to the driver’s assistance system. The new MMI all-in-touch control unit with large touchpad makes it easy to use. Audi connect services and the user interface is integrated into the familiar human-machine interface (HMI).
The new Q7 now gets redesigned driver oriented operating concept along with all-in-touch unit to quickly navigate through all of the functions. The full digital instrumental cluster replaces the traditional tachometer with 12.3inch TFT monitor. Driver can change the instrument cluster‘s view by either selecting classic round view or the infotainment view, everything is flexible and user configurable.
About the infotainment system, it houses a pop-out 7-inch (8.3-inch optional) display along with the latest generation of Audi’s MMI, featuring a large touch pad. Moreover, Audi says Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support will also be available.
Mechanically, the Q7 is powered by an updated version of the 3.0 TDI V6 diesel motor. The engine churns a max power of 272 hp with a peak torque of 600 Nm. As per the performance, the SUV can clock 0-100kmph in 6.3 seconds. Globally, along with this, a lower spec 3.0 TDI and 3.0/2.0 TFSI (petrol) will also be available.
