Audi India will launch its next gen 2015 Audi TT tomorrow on 23rd April. The coupe was revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor show and is already available for customers in Europe and US. The latest 3rd gen model is based on VW’s MQB platform and is 50 kg lighter than its predecessor. Thanks to the lightweight construction which is based on Audi Space Frame technology. Pitched against the likes of Mercedes-Benz SLK, BMW Z4 and Porsche Boxster, the Audi TT looks promising as well as expensive.
In terms of exterior contours, the coupe shows some of the latest design characteristics while retaining the essence of classic TT. The car also receives Audi’s Matrix LED lighting system that is on offer in the A8 at present in India. Inside the cabin, the 2015 TT gets new interiors highlighted by a state-of-the-art 12.3 inch digital Nvidia Tegra 30 GPU powered instrumentation cluster! There are also jet turbine blade inspired AC louvers with digital display, powerful Bang and Olufsen 12 speaker and a new multifunction bottom flat steering wheel.
Engine will be same - the 2.0-liter TFSI producing 230 PS and 370 Nm of max twist, mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch DSG gearbox. The automaker might also launch the more peppier variant which gives an output of 310bhp and 380 Nm of torque. The ongoing model can achieve a top speed of 243kmph with 0 to 100kmph in mere 5.6 seconds.
