Bolt From Tata Motors Launched at Rs 4.44 Lac

The homegrown manufacturer Tata Motors today launched the much awaited Bolt hatch at Rs 4.44 Lac (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). Tata Bolt is made available in both the fuel trims with 4 variants in both petrol and diesel. Bolt was first showcased at the last year’s Indian Auto Expo and is based on automaker’s new design language 'DESIGNEXT'. Tata Bolt competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10.

The Bolt hatch is developed under the banner of HorizonNext strategy, which contains three aspects- DriveNext, DesignNext and ConnectNext. Under DriveNext, the car gets segment first multi driving modes- City (default), Eco and Sport, while with ConnectNext, the hatch embraces  5-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system.

With the new design language 'DESIGNEXT', Bolt features aggressive front grille, stretched headlamp units with projector lamps and a new sporty front bumper. While at the rear, the car gets compact and modern looking tail lamps along with floating rear spoiler. The side profile gets sleek curve lines,  black C-pillars, ORVMs with side blinker and 15-inch alloy wheels.

The interior boasts new jet black interiors with chrome embellishments, 5-inch Harman touch screen infotainment system which supports video playback, smartphone-based navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, voice recognition, in-built HVAC controls, and smartphone integration.

 

As aforementioned, the hatch is available in both the fuel trims with petrol model getting segment first turbocharged 1.2-litre Revotron MPFi engine which is good enough to develop a max power of 88.8bhp and torque of 140 Nm. While the diesel model gets Fiat’s 1.3-litre Multi-Jet diesel engine dubbed as Quadrajet. The diesel mill churns a max power of 75bhp and torque of 190 Nm. Both the engines are mated to five speed manual transmission.
