Datsun has launched its first hatchback for the Indian car market and it will compete with the likes of Alto K10 and the Eon. This new hatchback s based on the Micra and hence is the most spacious amongst competition. The pricing of the Datsun Go starts at Rs 3.12 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Go is a Go - Datsun Go priced at Rs 3 lakhs 12 thousand
 


 
Datsun, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nissan today launched the most anticipated hatchback Go D at Rs 3,12,270, while the mid level variant A at Rs 3,46,482 and the top spec variant T costs Rs 3,69,999 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The variants are named after the first three letters of the automakers name DAT, which stands for Dream Access and Trust. The Go which had been showcased recently at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo has been around for a while with the company wanting to perceive its market perception, which is how today we see an aggressive pricing coming out from the brand. Pitched to take on Hyundai Eon and Maruti Alto 800, Datsun Go seems to be an attractive package for the end consumer as claimed by company during its price unveiling at an event held in New Delhi.

Delhi: The way of success in the Indian automobile industry goes through the masses and keeping this in mind, Nissan’s affordable brand Datsun launched its first car Go at an attractive price of Rs. 3.12 lakh. Datsun Go is a B segment hatch, which comes equipped with a 1.2-litre that churns out a power output of 67bhp and 104Nm of torque making it more powerful than the competition. Besides, the car comes with features like speed sensitive electric power steering, front power windows, Mobile Docking Station (MDS) with amplifier, universal mobile holder, aux-in and USB charger, front speakers, central locking and full wheel covers. The Go hatch will be competing with the likes of Alto 800, Hyundai EON, Alto K10 and Chevrolet Spark. The facelift version of Volvo S80 is finally here. Volvo India has today launched the 2014 Volvo S80 at the terminal 3 of the New Delhi Airport. The price goes as follows: The D4 variant is going to cost Rs. 41.35 Lakhs, whereas the D5 will charge 44.8 lakhs (Ex-showroom, Delhi). Hyundai First Ball Handover Ceremony for ICC World T20 2014
 

 
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), a subsidiary of HMC, the world’s fastest-growing automaker by brand and the official partner for International Cricket Council (ICC) handed over the ‘First Ball’ for the ICC World T20 2014 on the first day of the match. Hyundai holds the exclusive rights for the First Ball Handover before the opening match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan. At the ceremony, the set of First Balls were handed over by Aashish Bhardwaj, Asst. General Manager–Advertisement, HMIL to the ICC Umpires Nigel Llong and Richard Illingworth at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka in Bangladesh.

Toyota plant lockout continues
 

 
Jaipur: After issues with the labour union, Toyota management had shut down its plant operations at its Indian-plant near Bengaluru. Last evening, Toyota realised a statement mentioning, “At the instance of the Labour Department, we appreciate the efforts taken by the Govt. of Karnataka for this reconciliation process. Discussions have taken place today but no conclusion has yet been arrived at. Another round of meeting with the Deputy Labour Commissioner has been scheduled for tomorrow.”
 
Mercedes Benz S63 AMG unveiled
 

 
Mercedes Benz, the German auto manufacturer, after showcasing the production version of S-coupe, will now have the world premiere of the AMG version, the S63 AMG coupe at the upcoming New York International Auto Show starting from 18th April. It is expected that the AMG variant will be made available in selected showroom of UK by the year end.
 
Volkswagen 1.5-litre diesel will come with an automatic option


 
Volkswagen has been developing the new 1.5-litre diesel engine for the Indian market and there has been no hiding in that. The updated Polo and the Vento will be launched sometime in May or June this year with these new engine options.
