Ford India has finally launched the much-anticipated compact sports utility vehicle EcoSport in India at Rs. 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Ford Dealerships have already started taking bookings for the compact SUV, and the deliveries of the vehicle commences from today itself all around the nation. The EcoSport is now available with three engine options, and loads with exciting various exciting features.
Ford EcoSport is available in a total four trims- Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium optional, with three engine options - 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and the internationally acclaimed 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. While the Ambiente and Trend tims gets a 1.5-litre diesel or 1.5-litre petrol engines along with the 5-speed manual transmission as standard. The other two EcoSport Titanium and Titanium Optional is powered by a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine along with the aforementioned engine options.
The 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged engine is capable of developing 125bhp and 170Nm of top torque. The engine is mated to a five speed manual transmission, and returns an ARAI fuel efficiency of 18.9kmpl. The other two engines - 110bhp, 1.5-litre petrol and a 89bhp, 1.5-litre diesel also do duty in the Ford's flagship sedan Fiesta. While the 1.5-litre diesel engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox and returning a fuel economy of 22.7kmpl, the 1.5-litre petrol gets both five-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearbox options.
The Ford EcoSport is a feature-rich compact SUV, which gets keyless entry, push start/stop button, reverse parking sensor with visual display. It has 200mm of ground clearance and comes with 550mm water wading capability, which showing its off-roading abilities. The automatic variant of the car also sports Hill launch Assist system, which halts the car from rolling back for a few seconds after driver take foot off the brake, giving enough time to accelerate smoothly. Ford EcoSport also sports various safety features like six airbags-front passenger, driver and side curtain airbahs, ABS and others. More interestingly, the compact SUV features the Microsoft's SYNC technology, which Ford has fitted in many of its global lineups. This technology allows you to make and receive calls, playing favorite songs and much more. The SUV also sports the advanced technological features, including the Emergency Assistance System. This system further enhances the safety and quickens the operations after any emergency occurs like if driver met with an accident, someone will be automatically alerted.
