Ford Endeavour Concept showcased, India-bound next year

Ford has showcased the Endeavour Concept (globally called as the Everest) at the Beijing Motor Show. We can expect the Endeavour to come to India sometime next year. Also, we can expect the Ford Figo Concept sedan to be production around the same time.

The Ford Endeavour is based on the Ford pick-up platform and at the moment is available with 2.5-litre manual 4x2 and 3.0-litre diesel automatic 4x2 and 4x4. The 2014 Endeavour will receive some minor updates we can expect it to be launched in the coming 2 months. The next generation Endeavour (Everest) will be launched soon and it should have smaller and greener engines to reduce the carbon footprint.

The new Ford Endeavour will also be channelled to India through its existing CKD route. The Endeavour is currently built in Rayong plant in Thailand, and it will continue to be manufactured there. The new Endeavour’s production version should be displayed at one of the upcoming Motor Shows in Asia, as this is meant for this market. The Endeavour’s design will be based on Ford’s Kinetic design and you could see some similarities to the Ecosport, despite the difference in size.
