With the Christmas season fast approaching, American automaker Ford, definitely has a reason to cheer and partake in the merriments, courtesy of its Figo Aspire sedan. The compact sedan has managed to sell over 15000 units. These sales were calculated for the period of August- October 2015. The car is Ford India’s first installment that draws from company’s global product development capabilities. The car that was launched on the same day as the legendary Model T in 1908, has managed an impressive 5000 units of average sales per month.
Compared to 6,723 units sold in October 2014, sales grew to 10,008 units during the same month this year, courtesy of Ford Figo Aspire, said Rahul Gautam, Vice-President Marketing, Ford India. He further added that the sales are expected to continue growing as a result of the festive season that falls in the month of November. Currently, Ford India has 352 dealerships operating out of 189 cities and the company expects sales to grow from the tier-3 and tier-2 markets. The compact sedan competes against the likes of Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Zest and Swift Dzire. The competitive edge of Figo Aspire is bestowed by its impressive styling, courtesy of the Aston Martin lookalike grille among other styling cues, plethora of equipment and a powerful diesel mill.
