Ford India sales up by 20% in June 2013

The American auto maker, Ford India has registered a strong sales growth of 20.46 per cent in June 2013. The company sold 8,771 vehicles, which consists of both domestic and exports. It sold 7,145 vehicles in the domestic market boosted by the launch of All-new Ford EcoSport, an increase of 14 per cent. It had sold 6,267 units domestically in June last year. The exports rose 59 per cent in June to 1,626 vehicles from 1,024 units a year earlier.

“The surge in Ford India’s domestic wholesales and exports is a strong indicator of customers' acceptance of our quality products with smart features that they truly want and value. Going further with our global One Ford strategy to deliver great products, we’ve launched the All-new Ford EcoSport at a compelling value for money proposition, offering a great power of choice to customers from several segments,” said Vinay Piparsania, Ford India’s executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service.

Ford India has also launched the much-anticipated compact SUV EcoSport in June 2013, which is expected to play a huge role in the company's sales. The vehicle is available in 10 variants, and three engine options. The all-new Ford EcoSport is priced at Rs. 5.59 lakh for the base variant, making it an excellent product.
