General Motors to unveil a compact SUV concept at 2014 Auto Expo

General Motors has announced that it will unveil an all-new concept vehicle at the upcoming 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The company will also launch the Chevrolet Beat facelift on 5th February, 2014.

If media reports to believe, the concept vehicle which will have its global debut at the Auto Show is likely to be the Chevrolet Adra compact SUV. This compact SUV concept would be a sub-4 metre car and will directly compete against the likes of Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster in India. It is expected to be the toughest competitor for the Ford EcoSport in India and is likely to be launched by the early 2015.

The Adra Concept is based on the General Motors Gamma 2 platform, and is expected to be powered by the same 1.3-litre diesel engine that also does duty to the Sail and the Enjoy. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 77bhp. It was speculated the GM could bring the Trax in the country, but it measure 4.2 metre in lenth which makes it pricier.
