Isuzu launches D-MAX at Rs. 5,99,000

Isuzu Motors India drives in its global range of pick-up vehicles - Isuzu D-MAX in the country. The D-MAX comes in three variants with two cabin and two deck option. The two cabin option includes single cab and space cabin options with flat deck and arched deck. The single cab only comes with flat deck while the space cab comes with an option of flat deck and arched deck. On the occasion, the company also launched its new dealership in Mumbai and has planned to increase its foot in Maharashtra region of Pune and Nasik by the end of this year. The prices of the DMAX are-

• The single cab flat deck - Rs. 5,99,000 (ex-showroom Mumbai)
• The space cab flat deck - 6,19,000 (ex-showroom Mumbai)
• The space cab arched deck - Rs.7,09,000 (ex-showroom Mumbai)

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Takashi Kikuchi, Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India, “In India, the pickup truck segment is one of the largest and fastest growing segments in Commercial Vehicles (CV), accounting to 35% of the total CV market. We estimate India to be the world’s largest 1 Tn pickup truck market by 2023. We are extremely happy to enter Maharashtra. Maharashtra is the biggest pickup truck market in India and an integral part of our growth strategy. With this launch, we look forward to growing our market in West India and gradually across the country. In addition to Mumbai, we will also be opening dealerships in Pune & Nasik this year”

The single cab pick-up offers decent interiors, basic features and boosts heavy duty chassis and high-tensile-strength steel body, the pick-up can carry 1.2 ton effortlessly. While the space cab is a more premium offering carrying forward the underpinnings of the single cab with features like air-conditioning with heater, power windows and hydraulic power steering. The interior of the vehicle is SUV like and resembles it big brother MU-7. Space cab also provides an additional 1.5 feet area behind the front row for valuable goods. The space cab comes in three color options Alpine White, Sterling Metallic Silver and Nautilus Blue while the single cab comes only in Alpine White.

The vehicle is powered by a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder inter-cooled turbocharged diesel engine. The motor is matted to a 5-speed manual transmission which churns out 134bhp at 3600rpm & 294Nm of torque in the range of 1800-3200rpm. The Japanese manufacturer plans to open 60 dealerships by the end of 2015-16 and it currently has dealerships in Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Madurai, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati & Cochin along the with a new one in Mumbai.
