Just a couple of hours left to go for the 12th Edition Auto Expo; British marquee Jaguar Land Rover in a special event held in Delhi announced the showcasing of their C-X17 Sports Cross Over along with 2014 Edition Discovery, Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, 2014 Evoque, Project 7 and long wheel base Range Rover during the much anticipated automobile extravaganza.
In detail, the C-X17 Sports Crossover has been the much talked about concept over the last couple of months especially since it’s unveiling at the Frankfurt Motorshow last year. It brings forward a culmination of sedan and a sporty SUV which gives rise to an ultra luxuries five seater. Sleek design and sporty performance are its USP while light weight technology such as an all-new advanced aluminium monocoque chassis is definitely going to prove it agility. The cabin boasts of advanced technologies such as an interactive Surface Console multi-screen infotainment network that basically works as WI-FI in order to log onto social media platforms. Rear Exist Detention is another feature that helps safeguard against blind-spot objects such as cyclist at the time of opening doors of the vehicles. This crossover is said to be available both in petrol and diesel powertrain as when it goes into production.
The 2014 Discovery is said to feature an exterior refresh especially in regards to the front end with a new ‘Discovery Badging’. Moreover, it will have a better four wheel drive as Land Rover has planted a single-speed transfer box on the SE variant. Plus there is an eight-speed ZF as standard fitment on all models.
The F-TYPE that been received well by the true enthusiasts now gets a coupe version. This version features a 5.0 litre v8 supercharged engine which produces 550 ps of power along with 680 Nm of torque. Referring to performance, this coupe can accelerate from 0-100 in just 4.2 seconds. It also features Jaguar’s second-generation Electronic Active Differential that works in tandem with new Torque Vectoring by braking system to deliver enhanced agility and immaculate handling.
In contrast to the above mentioned models, the latest generation Evoque will portray the British manufacturers latest design philosophy that contributes to enhanced exterior looks which is really sporty at the end of the day.
Project 7 on the other hand is the company’s 60th anniversary celebration edition which will be on exhibit to showcase the company’s age old heritage. It’s actually been inspired from the legendary E-Type that was known for its design and performance and the case of this one of a type sports machine stands true to the breed.
Last but not the least, specific to the Indian market, Land Rover would be launching the long wheel based version of the Range Rover. Keeping in mind that majority of such kind cars are mostly chauffeur driven, the comfort factor is something that gives the end user unparalleled advantage. This is exactly what the company wants to leverage upon and that’s why the SUV would be soon on sale in the Indian market.
