India's leading Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) maker, Mahindra & Mahindra has today launched the Scorpio Special Edition to woo buyers in the on-going festive season. Priced at Rs 11.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi for BSIV variant), the vehicle gets special trims and finishes, high quality accessories and premium fabric. Only 500 such versions will be sold across the nation.
The Mahindra Scorpio Special Edition has come in a Pearl White colour and gets chrome plated alloy wheels and racy decals. Inside the cabin, the car receives high gloss wood finish centre bezel, rich tan and beige European leather seat upholstery, which give the car a better ambience. Moreover, the steering wheel, gearshift and gear-knob are encased in leather to add a touch of class. The list of additional features doesn't end here, it also gets a roof mounted 9" DVD player, a great feature for the music enthusiasts.
Then there are some additional safety features as well added in the Special Edition including ABS, Airbags, EST (Extra Stability Technology) Suspension. The EST suspension enables greater stability and comfortable ride too. The car also has a wide array of unique features including Intellipark with sensors in the rear bumper for easier reverse parking, intelligent rain and light sensors that automatically control wipers and headlights and Tyre–Tronics, a sophisticated measuring system that updates on exact air pressure and temperature on each tyre.
Speaking on the Scorpio Special Edition, Vivek Nayer, Chief Marketing Officer, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, "With its classy appearance and plush interiors, I am sure that the Scorpio Special Edition will be an instant hit with consumers. An unmitigated success since its launch, the iconic Scorpio has kept up the momentum even in its 11th year. I am sure that this limited edition will create a new benchmark in class and exclusivity to further spruce up the appeal of the Mighty Muscular Scorpio for its consumers.”
Since it's a special edition, there are no mechanical changes given to the car. It continues to derive its power from the same 2.2-litre 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine, which churns out the maximum power output of 120bhp.
