As the 2014 Auto Expo is approaching, rumors have started floating again regarding the facelift versions of country's leading auto-maker, Maruti Suzuki's best selling hatchback Swift and Sedan Swift Dzire. The possibilites of bringing facelifts to these vehicles has also increased when the company launched a minor facelift of Swift in the International Markets like Japan and Europe in July this year.
As we told earlier that Maruti has chalked out its plans and it would be launching a compact SUV bulit on XA-Alpha concept which is codenamed YBA. Hence, speculations are rife that Maruti may showcase these updated vehicle along with the compact SUV at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. It is expected that the exteriors of updated Swift would be tweaked a bit like the addition of LED daytime running lights is a prominent one to mention. The top end variants in both fuel trims might recieve more exquisite features like the cruise control, keyless entry with Engine Start/Stop Button, steering wheel with leather strapping, a dual tone dashboard etc. It is also being informed that fornt grille might also go under hammer and we could see a all new revised grille along with optional 16' alloy wheels.
It is expected that the facelifted Swift won't see any mechanical changes and the same 1.2-litre K-Series engine would power the petrol variants while the diesel variants would absorb powers from Fiat's 1.3-litre MultiJet engine. However, nothing is clear on pricing of the facelift version but it is expected that top-end might be priced at least Rs. 50,000 more than the current ones, given the added features and new design.
