New 2014 Honda City launch on January 7, 2014

Honda Cars India that unveiled the fourth generation City, is all set to launch the vehicle on 7th January, 2014. The bookings for the new City has already been started, however the exact pricing, variants and other details of the car will be revealed at the launch.

For the first time, Honda City will be made available with diesel engine. The petrol model continue to be powered by the same tried and tested 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that churns out a maximum power output of 117bhp. It will be offered with two transmission options- a five-speed manual and an automatic transmission. The other model will carryover the same 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, which also does duty to the Amaze compact sedan. This engine produces 98bhp of power and is paired to a five-speed manual transmission.

The diesel City is now officially the country's most fuel efficient car, as it returns a mind boggling 26kmpl of mileage (ARAI certified). Moreover, the new City with gasoline motor offers a mileage of 17.8kmpl on manual variant, while the automatic is said to be more fuel efficient with 17.9kmpl- Incredible!!!

The front fascia of the new City gets the Honda's latest design philosophy "EXCITING H !!!", as it looks more aggressive and eye catchy. The rear end sees majority of the changes, it now features a sharper bootlid comprising of new tail lamps and chrome highlight. The vehicle offers a new cabin, which feels more upmarket. Honda has added a touch screen infotainment system, automatic climate control, push button start, keyless entry and reverse camera and others.

The exact pricing details of the car is yet to be announced, but we expect it to be priced around Rs. 7.5-lakh to 13-lakh. So, stay tuned to CarDekho to catch the live action directly from the launch on January 7.
