Porsche, the ultra luxury carmaker that revealed a teaser image of the production version Macan SUV, has now released several new images of the vehicles on its official facebook fan page. The vehicle is scheduled to debut at the upcoming 2013 Los Angeles Motor Show.
The Macan SUV gets its design cues from the Cayenne. It comes with an aggressive front fascia that retain the design of quad LED daytime running lights, which is also being offered with the new 918 Spyder. The tail light design also resembles the recently introduced facelifted Panamera. The teaser images also show the tailgate-mounted spoiler and the curvaceous bodywork. The 2014 Macan SUV is built on the Volkswagen's famous MLB platform, which also underpins the Audi Q5 crossover.
The engine configuration for the 2014 Macan SUV is yet behind curtains, but the crossover is expected to be offered with a turbocharged 3.0-litre and 3.6-litre V6 engines, a turbo 2.0-litre 4-cylinder and a supercharged 3.0-litre V6. The diesel version of the car will be powered by a 3.0-litre V6 engine that develops 254bhp, and is expected to return around 16kmpl of fuel economy. The range topping 3.6-litre V6 turbo engine is capable of developing 394bhp, and will offer about 11kmpl of mileage.
The 2014 Porsche Macan will be the cheapest Porsche ever, as the diesel model is likely to be priced around £38,237 (INR 3741085.79).
