Audi had showcased the A3 at the Auto Expo and the company will be introducing the saloon and cabriolet version of this new entry-level product. The good news is that this car will be available soon and it will be available even in its performance packed version – the S3.
The bad news is it will even be available in a stripped down version too. This model won’t get features like day-time running lamps, climate control just like the Q3 S. This will come with a manual transmission too. So, you can get an Audi badge at a lesser cost, with compromise on luxury features.
Audi has been doing well in India for the past two years as it is sitting on top with maximum sales, however this can affect its brand value. We love the way Audi’s are to drive and its styling. The engines on offer are also the 2.0-litre diesel and the 1.8-litre turbo petrol, which have good outright performance and are frugal too.
This will be the new compact sedan that will be placed below the A4. At the moment, the Indian market doesn’t have any products to compete with the A3 or the S3, but Mercedes-Benz will introduce the CLA 45 AMG to compete with the S3. The conventional CLA-Class will be launched next year, as Mercedes-Benz India is launching several new products this year alone.
This year Audi will open several new dealerships in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and it will a total 40 dealerships by the end of 2014. At the moment, 60% of the company’s current sales come from sedans and the remaining 40 from the SUVs. The A3 will further increase the growth for the German manufacturer and give it a lead in this number game battle.
