A decent design + Features loaded to the brim / A flamboyant design + Loaded with features = Rocket Start!

This is what happening in India at present, examples would be Hyundai Elite i20, Creta; Ford Figo/Aspire; Maruti Suzuki Baleno. And we are more than happy to see the new Zica as Tata has done a wonderful job when it comes to design and features of this car. Tata Zica competes with slow sellers like Chevrolet Beat and Hyundai i10 while Maruti Suzuki Celerio is the only rival which sells around 6-7K monthly. There’s a possibility, Zica could become the segment best seller considering the overall package!

Starting with the design, besides the Beat, none of the car in the segment are as flamboyant as the new Zica. This being said, Beat isn’t selling like it used to as the vehicle is getting old and replacement is on the way. Hyundai i10, on the other hand, is the oldest car here and it shows, Hyundai manages to sell it below 2K monthly. Celerio was launched during the 2014 Indian Auto Expo and brought AMT (automatic manual transmission) to the segment, however, the design was rather a plain jane. Undoubtedly, Zica also boasts one of the best cabins in the segment.

Another important aspect that people are really looking forward to these days - features and Tata has brim-loaded the Zica! Except the Celerio none of the vehicles in the segment offers Bluetooth connectivity. Zica’s Harman powered ConnectNext unit offers segment-first eight speaker system (4 speakers + 4 tweeters) and takes voice commands. In terms of connectivity, it offers Bluetooth phone integration, AUX-in and USB. And Android smartphone can be paired to the unit and it displays turn-by-turn navigation. Things don't end here, with the Tata’s new Juke app, rest of the passengers can queue or change the song playing through the Bluetooth audio from the host’s mobile through a virtual network/ mobile hotspot.

In terms of safety, Hyundai i10 comes with no safety features while rest of the two cars - Beat and Celeiro, offer dual-front airbags along with ABS+EBD. Apart from these, Zica also offers CSC - Corner Stability Control!
