The New Year is round the corner. For the general public, 2015 brought the most number of launches in a year with almost a launch in every month. The year saw some hot launches and some not-so-inspiring ones, however, in a nutshell, it did brought some respite to the ailing Indian auto industry. Right from cars like Creta and Baleno to the most economical vehicles like Kwid, 2015 witnessed everything. But do you know which cars were the most searched ones over the internet? We, in retrospect present you with the list of top 10 cars searched online and what made them special for the citizenry.

10. Honda City

Known for its amazing ride quality, City stands at no. 10 in the list of most searched cars in 2015. Honda City faced renewed competition this year from the likes of Maruti Ciaz and facelifted Vento but is expected to rank better in the coming year given its immense popularity.

9. Maruti Alto K10

This entry-level hatchback ranks 9th in the list. The automatic transmission offered in this car attracted special attention of the buyers and thus lead to its increased search.

8. Maruti Celerio

The Indo-Japanese carmaker got another car in most searched cars of India. Competing with Hyundai i10, Celerio got an edge because of the automatic variant. People’s faith in Maruti Suzuki is unshakable and Celerio took full advantage of this.

7. Hyundai Creta

Just another feather in the crown of South Korean carmaker! Turning out to be a nightmare for its rivals, Creta is settled at 6th position. The automobile dislodged Mahindra Bolero from the spot of highest selling Utility Vehicle some time back and stayed there for two months.

6. Datsun GO Plus

The only vehicle Datsun has in the top 10 is the Go Plus MPV. It is the most economical car in its class and this appealed the most to the internet users.

5. Maruti Swift Dzire

Touted as the most successful vehicle in its segment, Swift Dzire is calm at 5th position in most searched cars list. Way ahead of its competitors like Honda Amaze and Figo Aspire in terms of sale, Dzire looks composed at its place. With the spied news of automatic version, the searches as well as the sales, are sure to go up even further.

4. Hyundai i20 Elite

The car is a leader in its segment. Although it is facing renewed competition from Baleno, it remains popular enough to be in the no. 4 spot.

3. Maruti Swift 

The sales of the vehicle came down in the month of November because of the launch of Baleno. While Maruti sold more than 17,000 units of Swift in the month of October, it dipped to less than 12,000 for November. Even then the car was successful enough for the rest of the part of 2015, that it ranked 3rd in the list of most searched cars.

2. Maruti Baleno

Probably the most successful launch of this year. Elite looks of Baleno and plethora of high-tech goodies, coming at an economical price, impressed everyone and eventually, nailed the market. A towering average of 27.4 kmpl made its appeal louder at least to the ones looking for an economical car.

1. Renault Kwid

And the most searched car in 2015 is the all new Renault Kwid! The biggest asset for this French car is the segment in which it was launched. Annihilating its competitors, Kwid registered a staggering 25,000 bookings within two weeks of the launch. Known for its micro-SUV look, Kwid is more than a value for money product.
