Toyota has been one of the prominent automakers in India for quite some time now. Known for its hybrid and electric technology around the globe, Toyota will be showcasing some of their most anticipated products at the 2016 Auto Expo. Adding to the feathers in its hat, Toyota has also retained the world's top selling carmaker tag for the 4th year in a row. Like other carmakers, the Japanese auto giant is also focused on making its presence felt in the auto event. Amongst the showcases, will be the all new Toyota Innova. Loved by Indians, Innova is making a comeback in an all new avatar. Here is a list of cars which will be showcased by Toyota at the Expo, in hall number 9.
Toyota Innova
The latest avatar of Innova is longer, looks more futuristic and comes packed with features. It is based on the Helix platform, which will also underpin the new age Fortuner. In India, the MPV will most likely come with a 2.4-litre GD diesel engine which will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic option. Output of this motor is rated at 147bhp and 380Nm torque. Innova has features like a touchscreen infotainment system, digital MID, ambient lighting, height and tilt adjustable steering wheel and many more.
Toyota Fortuner
One of the most talked about SUVs in the autospace, the 2016 Fortuner, might make its Indian debut at the 2016 Auto Expo. The last update of Toyota Fortuner was launched on January 06, 2015 and since then, the car has been unaltered. The 2nd Gen Fortuner gets more aggressive and futuristic styling. This new look is courtesy of the front grille with the dual chrome slats layout. The grille extends down horizontally after overlining the sweptback headlamps to give the car a mean looking character. This version is already launched in Australia and Indonesia, at a price of around Rs. 22 lac.
Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid
To boost the use of hybrid technology, Toyota might showcase the hybrid version of Corolla Altis at the 2016 Auto Expo. Expected to launch sometime after the Auto Expo, this car features a 1.5-litre petrol engine, with an output of 73bhp. Adding 60bhp to the setup will be an electric motor, coupled in Toyota’s Hybrid system II. The efficiency of the car is claimed at 33kmpl in the Japanese market.
