On BSE, 11.58 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 2.48 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
The stock hit a high of Rs 23.15 and a low of Rs 21.90 so far during the day.
Ashok Leyland's net profit fell 23.37% to Rs 433.70 crore on 3.27% decline in total income from operations to Rs 12481.20 crore in the year ended 31 March 2013 (FY 2013) over the year ended 31 March 2012 (FY 2012).
Ashok Leyland, the flagship of the Hinduja Group, is the second largest maker of commercial vehicles in India after Tata Motors.
