Australia Stocks end higher; Materials lead

Australian equity market finished session firmly in green on Thursday, 24 August 2017, on the back of gain in material stocks and upbeat earnings from miner South32. At the close, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index rose 8.34 points, or 0.2%, to 5,745.50.
