Auto shares ease

Auto stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Auto index falling 9.11 points or 0.05% at 17885.68 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (down 1.29%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 0.88%), Apollo Tyres Ltd (down 0.87%), Eicher Motors Ltd (down 0.57%), Bosch Ltd (down 0.31%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 0.27%), and MRF Ltd (down 0.05%).

On the other hand, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 1.67%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 1.18%), and Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (up 1%) moved up.

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 129.84 or 0.32% at 40806.47.

The Nifty 50 index was up 31.65 points or 0.26% at 12024.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 91.89 points or 0.67% at 13807.07.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 24.49 points or 0.52% at 4759.1.

On BSE,1391 shares were trading in green, 932 were trading in red and 152 were unchanged.
