The National Green Tribunal in its order dated yesterday, 23 May 2016, directed that all the diesel vehicles, whether light or heavy, which are more than ten years old, will not be permitted to ply on the road in the major cities of Kerala upon expiry of 30 days starting from 23 May 2016, to curb pollution.
The latest order from NGT banning more than 10 year old diesel vehicles in major cities of Kerala is expected to spur demand for new purchases.
The NGT also directed that Kerala will not register new diesel vehicles with the capacity of 2,000 CC and above, except public transport and local authority vehicles.
